a beautiful find from the thrift store
























Jason found a 1969 flawless copy of The Fisherman Under the Sea, by Miyoko Marsutani and illustrated by Chihiro Iwasaki at the thrift store. It is gorgeous. I started hunting about for information about Chihiro Iwasaki and found a link to a huge collection of her amazing work housed in two Japanese museums. Both of the museums look intriguing and definitely deserve to be put on the list of places I want to go.

Chronicle books has published a beautiful book on the WPA that is going on the list of must haves. Frankly I'd love to have one of everything Chronicle books publishes but I digress...

I know President elect Obama is busy green lighting public works projects but how about some harmonica contests and baby buggy races. I love this baby buggy poster from rainfall.com I could do a gig with the new WPA as a poster designer if it comes to that. Provided that bad stock photography is strictly forbidden.
